10/28/2004 Archived Entry: "My Contribution"
I forgot to mention how I was able to help the Red Sox win the pennant and the World Series this year. My contribution was small, but important.
For the first three games of the Yankee series, I got comfortable to watch the game. That is, I put on sweatpants, a tee shirt, slippers. You know.
The fourth game, in which the Sox started their big comeback, was in progress when I got home. I didn't change out of my work clothes until the game was over and they had won.
So, for every game thereafter I didn't get my comfy clothes on. And the Red Sox won every game. My discomfort was a small price to pay for victory.
I'm not a superstitious guy, but this is science. Now I know how to help my team.

Wow! And I thought it was because I bought Jake those two Boston/Red Sox shirts at a garage sale for him to wear during the series.
